Underwood is a bi-annual publication of literature on vinyl, launching in May 2010. The project is a collaboration with Tarkovsky writer and editor, Nathan Dunne. My brief was to create an identity that in sensibility would mimic the Music for Children by Claude Debussy.
The result was a simple, characterful monochrome type design for sleeves, record labels and website. The sleeve is designed to open like a book with a simple gatefold format. The website reflects the same notion of a discrete, clean, minimal design and functionality. Illustration by the brilliant Jordan Crane.
