Design of 6th Annual publication. Working collaboratively with Make's in-house graphic designer, editor and photographer, and with Manchester-based printers on specification, costing, and scheduling.
The brief for the annual was ‘places’, and the annual is designed with a travel-scrapbook aesthetic. Antique-style maps were created to site world and UK projects, world newspapers shredded and scanned in order to show the cross-cultural ethos of the practice, whilst the use of the company’s red branding identity is subtly flashed throughout.
The use of an uncoated paper stock, heavy trace inserts and a fold out for text is juxtaposed with a coated cover. Company typeface apex is used alongside bodoni in various weights to create an individual old style identity, specific to the brief.
